Meet the Staff James D. Snyder - Director of Finance James attended the University of North Carolina and subsequently worked for a company dedicated to importing and exporting for seven years. It was in this capacity that he gained an intricate knowledge and practical experience with contract negotiations. He utilizes this prior experience in negotiating contracted rates with insurance companies. James was the second employee hired by the founder and CEO, Michael T. Mitchell, when the company moved it's operations to the South Carolina coast. He has been employed by the company for nine years and has worked in every position within the company. These positions include; mailroom clerk, coding specialist, data entry of claims, and supervisor of deposit posting. He has attended numerous conferences nationwide on subjects affecting every aspect of health care billing, management, and regulatory changes. He was elevated to his current position as Director of Finance three years ago. James is the son of an Obstetrician and a Professor of Nursing. He has been exposed to all the nuances of the medical field and he appreciates all the hard work and dedication necessary for providers to do their job. He is able to apply all the experience and education he has gained, both professionally and personally, in a practical and professional method that has become an invaluable resource for PMG. Deana K. Turner - Director of Operations DeAna has been with Practice Management Group, LLC since 2003 as a billing and customer service specialist and is now serving as Director of Operations for PMG. DeAna offers extensive experience in both clinical and business administration in multiple disciplines of medicine. DeAna received her education and degree as a surgical assistant and upon completion of her studies, she was employed as a surgical assistant to a level three trauma center. It was during this time that she gained practical experience and knowledge of the surgery suite dynamics and was able to develop a familiarity with the paperwork a surgical case generates. Subsequent to her experience as a surgical assistant, DeAna's employment with a large regional medical center, McLeod RMC, led her to the Respiratory Therapy field in an administrative capacity. As a result of this experience, she was afforded the opportunity to develop valuable tools regarding the billing for both inpatients and outpatients. While DeAna was employed in the respiratory therapy field, McLeod implemented a multidisciplinary pain management program and utilized DeAna's assistance in formulating changes related to procedures. She remained in this administrative position for five years. DeAna has worked closely with medical providers for thirty-eight years resulting in an intricate understanding of the clinical and business aspect of billing and management.
